Behold the carnage on my couch: wilted French Toast crusts and the flattened corpse of a bran muffin and their abandoned crumb children.

I have failed in biting a perfectly circular hole thru 4 slices of French toast. The crusts lie limp and huddled on my couch.

Muffins are supposed to die. But this bran muffin died, not in the warm but smothering embrace of my intestines, but squashed and alone, half-eaten in a wicker bag.
